thanks for the reply ed. Killer work, would love to see more! It's art like yours that gives me the incentive to keep on practicing and striving for the level you are at. Great work. I have a similar setup in my small two car garage. I put a 10X10 frame, covered in heavy clear plastic with a zippered door. Put a goodsize vent fan in the wall and on the opposite side on the plastic wall I cut out some holes and tape 20" X 25" filters in. I only have a small 30 gal. twin cylinder compressor but it works okay for now. I use Iwata eclipses for the airbrushes and I have a small Sata minijet, a larger Sata for clears, a Sharpe titanium for basecoats and a sharpe cobalt for primer. Bought most stuff off ebay or in pawn shops. Great prices, work well. Always looking to improve and your work provides motivation for that.

I have a new rear fender I think we need to whack out, who cares if it goes with the rest of the bike completely. I have the paint codes for base and have enough paint to probably do it.

This is what I've done so far. The blue stripe is a faded kandy (oriental to cobalt blue) over coarse pale gold meta-jewels. It will go crazy in the sun! There will be a funky texture effect in the silver stripe, and some engine-turned silver leaf in the arrow-head shape. Pinstripes will follow later. I have to freshen up the base - as there are a few chips here and there. More to come! I wish he'd let me put some free-hand work on this, bummer

Post some pics when that bad boy is cleared! What color basecoat did you put down beneath the Kandy blue(s)? When you mentioned coarse gold, is this something suspended in a clear like sg100? Great work, colors and design.

Hello Roaddawg, To answer your question, first I put down a silver met. base followed by about 4 coats of House of Kolor Coarse Pale Gold Meta-jewels. The Meta-jewels are a very heavy metallic base coat. It lays down like a base coat, but looks like a metal flake. When this was dry, I sprayed some HoK Oriental blue over the entire graphic, then Cobalt blue fading up from the sides. Just got it cleared and sanded down for the next round. The really cool stuff is just around the corner. I'm gonna do some silver leaf and a crazy texture effect! Then pinstripes and final clear. More pics to come!!!

This is my progress so far. I've already sanded the clear and started on the pinstriping. I think I'm gonna re-do the diamonds inside the silver leaf shapes - looks kinda dead. Maybe some deep blue marble will liven it up a bit. More to come!

Wow, killer job. Is the oriental blue the color on the front of the tank or the rear? There is certainly some depth to that paint. I like how you mixed up the silver leaf with some engine turning and natural. Very nice.

Hi Guys, My mistake, this is actually an 06 chopper. Pretty much done. Still have to cut and buff tomorrow. I did end up re-doing the diamonds. I felt this would pop it out a bit more. Let me know what you think!!! My next project is gonna have some crazy mural work, so stay tuned!

Looks sweet, the blue marble in the diamond finished nice, I'm not an expert but I think the scheme is screaming for a wicked bright accent pinstripe.
just my .02

I agree Sh8kr, but this guy struck me as the low key type - so I tried to keep it classy. I love to go crazy on a paint job, but I also have to stay within my clients' perameters. He's the guy that has to live with it - not me!LOL

That is a super job. So when do we start seeing you in all the magazines and books? Your paint clearly outdoes some of the better known painters in the market today. Keep posting whatever you do.
