Paint saver replacement

I am goeing to remove my paint saver for re-lineing my tank and re-painting.

Question.... I want to make sure I can buy a direct replacment that matches the threads to the tank. Can anybody lead me to the correct replacement?
I have found a couple paint saver sellers but they use Harley manufacture years to purchase the correct fit. Being a Big Dog , not sure which to order???

I replaced mine with the KURYAKYN FLUSH MOUNT GAS CAPS , bought off flea bay. These fit perfect, look awsome and do away with the plactic that swells......my left was stuck,as many are.... replaces both paint saver and cap...:up:

I really like the look...and so far no leaks..they send different gaskets with the caps. I dont know if they will fit 04.....are yours screw in, with paint savers?

Dude I am in love with your paint job! I have the same bike. I was tempted to steal the theme, then found my own paint scheme!

Hey Chaz, when you put the new saver on did you use anything to bond or seal it in place? Or did you just clean the opening and threads and just use the rubber gasket supplied with the cap? Have you had any issue with gas leaking out with a full tank?

I took mine off for new paint but did successfully remove without any damage to my old paint. There is a tool for it but I taped the tank off with 2 layers of blue painters tape, heated the paint saver with a hair drier, not much just to warm it up. If you are in a warm climate sitting in the sun should be enough? I then used a pipe wrench on the outer edge and very carefully unscrewd it. The only thing that got marked up was the old stock paint saver. I bought the Kuryakyn's to put back on.

I sure like the look of the flush mount cap. Does anyone know if they make that of the o4 chopper which just has the single cap?

Yup new cap is slighly larger outside diameter maybe an 1/8" overall (1/16" or more per side.
