Question; since day 1 the gas cap has been difficult to remove. It was replaced under warranty but to no avail? How, or is it possible, to remove the original paint saver gas cap/ring and replace with a new one, such as the pop-up?

Thanks

Throw a lil vaseline on the threads, or dielectric grease, just a bit is all you need and it'll work like a charm.

If Pro's suggestion does not work for you.....I got the new ratcheting gas cap and it works much easier.

the paint savers from the factory are jb welded in place.they are a bitch to get out.1st make sure the vent mechanism is removed from your cap, they all fail eventually.2nd,the round extended part of the cap where the vent goes into usually swells and creates a little drag.you can trim that back a little along with lubing the threads like everyone suggested.save the paint saver extraction for when you decide to repaint the tank...just my 2 cents brother, peace
