Looks like somebody might have done a burnout or spun a tire and threw rocks into the fender. Happened to me on a sportbike tank once looked just like that. You have it parked somewhere with alot of other bikes?

That sucks !Hate to hear about anyone with damage to their paint.
Hope the repair isn't too costly.
Be careful with that jacket around the waist- There was a member here who went down when his ol ladys sweater got caught in the belt.

I'm now thinking pellet gun damage. I bought some pellets and compared the size of them with the damage, and it was a perfect match. Not only that, but with the back of the pellets being flat, round and hollow, it explains the rings of damage. Someone told me that pellets can tumble, thus striking the object with the backside. Someone else said that if someone loaded a pellet gun in a hurry, they may have loaded some pellets backwards, which would also explain the pellet striking the fender backwards.

If only I could locate the fucktard that did this to my bike! I'd pump a few pellets into his ass, or maybe better yet, plaster his favorite vehicle with pellets and see how HE likes it!

Checked with a very reputable vehicle body/paint repair shop, and was told that the only way to properly repair it would be to repaint the entire fender, to the tune of about $1000!!! However, they also said that my insurance would probably cover it as an act of vandilism, and that the deductible could end up being half of what it usually is. Will be contacting my insurance agent to get the details.

Yes the whole fender would need to be painted. Does the $1000 include them removing and installing the fender? If not it seem a little high to me. Not crazy high but I know I wouldn't charge that much.

Yes, it does include them removing the fender, and also trailering the bike back to my house once the fender is removed so as to keep it safe.

If the insurance covers a good part of it, then I may just go ahead and have them do it. They have great reviews, have been in business for 30 years, and guarantee customer satisfaction.

Report it to the police first if you havent done so before going to the insurance company. A copy of the police report with your claim will move things along faster, just saying...

when you park it..............do you cover it? I keep mine in a wooden shed and often get lazy and do not cover it. In the heat of the summer the wood can sometimes weep sap and it drips on the bike. it cleans up easy enough. not saying that is what it is but if you park it under something that is dripping caustics onto your bike...............i would think a pellet gun would break the paint.
