Ed, as usual you have produced a show stopper motorcycle art. Were the heads powder coated to match or is that some sort of heat resistant paint?

We had them powder coated. Then I scuffed the tops, applied the matching artwork, then flat cleared them.

Ed, are you using HOK flattening agent or a flat clear from ppg or kustom or somethng? When you powder coated, did you powder coat the base color of the digital camo design or black or whatever? Great work, that's for sure! It is always inspirational to see your artwork, be it graphics or airbush.

HoK flattening agent. But I use Matrix ' s flat clear now. It's more consistent.
We powered those parts in the same dark flat charcoal as the wheels and everything else. If you're wanting to do something like this, use someone good. The people we used for powder coating sucked. They couldn't get the chrome sandblasted off consistently. And there were low places (like pits) in the aluminum. Maybe next time I'll get the parts stripped of the chrome chemically first. Anyway, after the artwork was done, most people couldn't tell it wasn't perfect. But I knew it wasn't, so it bugged me. Live and learn.
