It is now official, my son was sworn in to the Navy today. I have held off writing this though I have been bursting with pride for the last few weeks. He is 17 and entering his senior year of high school, but made the decision this is the direction he wants to pursue. I won't say it is easy letting go, but we support him wholeheartedly. He is actually now in the reserves in the delayed entry program and will then serve 6 years as an AECF. The Navy is in our family's history as my grandfather served on the USS Montpelier in the South Pacific during WW2 and my dad was in the Navy for a while. Don't know what else to say, but Damn I'm proud of him :flag::flag::flag:

Mike, great news to hear! You guys need to be very proud! Please make sure to give him my welcome to the military family. Not sure if you have seen the post "a soldiers pledge" from Ray, very heartwarming. Now if I could just get you into a ridgeback, I would be proud of you!!!!
