Sorry to hear about this. That sucks.
We got potholes BAD over here too and I feared riding my pitbull at night.
A guy got himself killed here a couple months back from a pothole. In the daytime.
Glad you're okay.

Why don't all you guys Move to Jersey, We'll start a commune and Live the Hippy Life, Drink, Ride and Fuck (Not each other Gas, Calm Down). :2thumbs:
Yeah yeah!!! Just like in my beloved movie "Easyrider". But Blitz, not in Jersey. How about out here in the west were we have fresh air, less population, less pollution, open roads and plenty of room to grow some grass! :D :flag:

The skid plate didn't go below the frame rails. It attached at the front motor mounts and went between the rails to protect the motor. Looks nice under there when they are all chromed.

Well got my estimates done, $8823.

sked a adjustor (sorry now called "estimator") to come out and look at it.

Well he came out... he's F'in useless. Didn't even have a copy of the estimate that corperate had. Gave him my copy... he took like 2 general pics of the bike and one of the primary. Asked who was doing the work, I said "me". he said, be back in a few..going to the car to do some paperwork.

Come back and handed me this sheet...

"Repair biker per shop estimate. copt of shop's estimate in imaging. labor rate adjusted for self repairs. new estimate amount is $6264. Insured to advise prior to any addl repairs."

I'm like WTF man... that is like $2500 under. he says he adjusted the rate from $79 an hour to $36.

WTF man, there isn't anybody that will do shit for that rate. When he tells "sure there is, insurance company is gaurentee money"

I tell him "last time I checked cash money is gaurentteed!" and even if there is SOME shop that would work for that they aren't touching a $30,000+ bike.

I told him corp claims dept told me they don't adjust rates... he said they do. I would have to call them to get it adjusted/over-rode.

BELIEVE ME I called them.. they apologized for the confusion, said they haven't did that in over 12 years... put my claim back up to the estimate amount minus deductable... issued check!

Neighbor told me the adjustors are a sub-contractor that get hired/fired and bonuses based on cutting down the estimates and figured maybe sense I was doing it myself maybe I'd just take it and go on with life! F THAT!

State Farm once again took care of the situation and stepped up. Man they ROCK!

Thursday, Alhall and I took the bike to get some custom pipes made and a custom sissy bar. Can't wait... stay tuned.

That's good news Chris. Unfortunately State Farm sucks here, to many claims/lawsuits on that company. Glad to hear they did you right.

Ditto on State Farm. I've always had them, shopped them a few times and they have always been the cheapest and the few times i've had claims for this or that they've never given me ANY trouble. They now get all my business. Glad you got it cleared up Gas, how about a "how to make sure your insurance company doesn't screw you?" :D :D

I'm glad you're getting things done on yours, Gas.

I was supposed to get mine back yesterday but, I was informed they're going to have to put in a supplimental.

Looks like my frame was bent so, the only way to get another frame is for them to take the old frame off and cut the neck out and send that back to BD. Then BD will ship another one. This all has to be done AFTER they get with my insurance again and approve the supplimental so, my estimate will go up a bit now AND, it's going to be another 4-6 weeks before I'll be riding the dog again.

Gas, glad they did the right thing. But don't say I told you so. I told you that they were going to try to screw you on the labor rate.
