I just talked to them and it dose have relays and breakers so I don't see why not but someone els that knows more than me I am share will chime in.

Im gonna guess that the PCB's in your hand controls is where you're gonna run into problems. If you switch to standard controls, u'll be alright.

If it was a plug and play that would be great. PMD is more of a plug and play, WP is not and can be a pain in the ass, as is the M-Unit. For me I think PMD is the way to go for now. I have the WP and plan on changing to the PMD as soon as it arrives. No issues with the WP, but I think the PMD is has a cleaner look and easier to diagnose any bad circuit.

You would have to look at the break down of it and see what kind of voltages it's putting out on what circuits. The stock Big dog switches used 5 volts on the handlebar switches, ignition switch, ect...if this Ultima unit is putting out 12 + volts to them, it will burn them up. I would call Ultima and ask for tech support to verify this.

I don't know what the big rush is to go to the PDM. Its just a revised version of the EHC.
I've already seen HCI failures in the PDM.
If you're EHC isn't giving you problems I would leave it alone.

i have read that the voltages are different on the hand controls -- i am wondering how M-unit adjusts for that so it would be a similar fix --

When I rewired my 03, to get around that, I used the switches on the handlebars to ground the relays. I know the older dogs were using Harley controls, and don't have that circuit board behind them, but a switch is a switch. I wouldn't recommend a complete rewire if there is a plug in fix, but some of you that are having constant electrical problems, might think about it.

Like so many of you out there i also have the WP unit, it has been living quite happerly under my covers. I have not touched the wiring at all and is still the mess i started with, but i can't see it and it is all working fine even in pouring rain. Old theory "If it ain't fucked don't fix it".
As for doing a complete rewire, hell i would rather be riding..........wouldn't you?
