Fells I orderd some new pipes - Martin Bros. Money Shots.

I had a post up a while back about some Hooker 4-Bidden pipes I had put on and they fit horrible on my bike. So I got a good deal on these on ebay. I sent an email to martinbros about the bracket and he said it will probably be a bit short but to space it at the tranny and it should line up just fine. What he couldn't tell me was what jets he recommended.

I currently have 31/72 and my pipes are 2n1. Should I bump up to a 74?76?

Also any tips or tricks you guys have done when mounting to the tranny would be apprectiated. All pipes i've ever had mounted to the frame.

Thanks

You probably meant 31 intermediate not 41. 31 will be in the ball park depending on where you live. I run a 31/74 up here in Washington St.

BD sells there pipes with a 31/76 combo.
After you get them on run it and then do some playing around with it or have it dyno'd with the exhaust probe to see if you get the magic 13/4 to 1 ratio.

Good luck,
Ray

oops, yeah 31. edited.

I'm in S. FL.

I have a 74 jet at the house I'll probably try on and take it from there. Just not sure if 2n2 require larger or smaller jets than 2n1

I've ran about 6 different pipes and they were all different. Best to dyno it to be sure.

Also, are you still running stock aircleaner? And do you plan on running baffles. If not you probably notice the difference from you stock pipe.

I would say you are going to have to bump up the main!!

Ray thanks for your input

Air Cleaner = TearDrop with K&N Air Filter

And yeah, i plan on running baffles..gotta hear how the stock ones sound but I don't want to loose too much performance.

Ok, i'll try a larger main and go from there. I just hope they mount without too much of a headache.

Fellas I put the pipes on today and they fit much better than my hooker 4 bidden pipes. The only issue I had is they sound like a go cart...seriously no louder or deeper than a Honda Shadow 600. Plan on taking the baffles out but don't want to loose too much performance either.

Also I left my int. jet at 31 and my main jet from 72 to a 74. Off the line was great at 4000rpms though it sputtered a bit. I really didn't play with the carb too much but if it continues after I take the baffles out should I bump up to a 76?
