Opinions on the 08 Pitbull

I just adopted my second puppy which is a 07 Pit. It took some looking because I personally don't care for the looks of it's younger kennel mate.
The dealers I spoke to said sales of the 08s are not to good.
What's your opinion?

The factory told me their best seller is the K-9, but the Pitbull is second.

...and, they are making a bunch of 'em:

Don't know what the ride is like but some of the paint schemes that they are using make them look pretty good. A lot better looking then that brown/tan looking paint job that was originally posted when the 08' look came out.:zz2cents:

The 08' hasn't grown on me yet. I have looked at it several times and do the head shake and face scrunch every time. Just my opinion.

I have to admit it did take some time to grow on me some, since I really like the chopper look - but I'd be proud to ride one. Styles do change (unless you're Harley  ). The new Wolf will be even more of a culture shock with the classic Big Dog community - but it already has me turned on.

Yeah, my dealer also said the K-9 is the best sell...the Pit doesn't have a proven track record, but it would be interesting to see what happens this year with the redesign...I really dig the spring under the seat.
P8RIOT, it looks like the front rim seem pretty standard amongst all the Pits, or is it just that batch? No complaints, I think it flows well with the bike.

Each model (K-9, Pit Bull, etc.) comes with only one style of wheel. They usually change the wheel style every year of so, but then that next entire batch will be the same - no options on the wheels.

I think they have limited wheels styles this year so far. The pit has the 23" front wheel and a larger back wheel I beleive, the ridgeback has a 17" rear, the mutt has spokes so the only 2 bikes that might have wheel options would be the mastiff and the k-9 unless the front tire widths are different.

THe Pit I think will grow on me but I ordered 08 Ridge its in and waiting for dry weather to pick up:whoop:

What did you order, Vac?? Tell us about the paint scheme, and any mods you have in mind. (Maybe on a new thread, so we don't hijack this one.)

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that...I just assumed all there lines had options.

Paint job makes or breaks the Pittbull. Seen some I love and others that I would never give a second glance.

Great Old School look, I like it better than the bobbers.

I'm going to hold on for a while and see what BDM is up to over the next few years.

I dont think it should have replaced the pitbull, but been a new model. I dont like the solid color 08's, but my dealer has a blue and white w/ hand lettering & pinstripping - one of the nicest looking bikes I've ever seen.

I love the look of the '08 Pitbull, looks good and I like the style of the tank. I'm glad to see BDM take a chance on doing something a little different. :2thumbs:
