Opinions on flame colors

Right now my bike has what I call a Maroon color flame job. I talked to a local painter about hand pin striping the flames with a bright color or possibly just repainting the flames all together with brighter colors. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what bright color I can outline the Maroon with to make it look better. I really do not like the color at all but for a couple hundred I am thinking I can make it look better..

What color would you suggest....

try a metallic gold color to outline them. My bikes flames are gold flip flop with a green outline pinstripe. House of color has some great colors to choose from!!!

I think silver pinstriping would be pretty. Although I don't know if it would have the effect you are looking for, I just think it would be complimentary and set it off.

X's 2.... additionally, I'm a big fan of Harlequin/Chamileon paints....why pick one color when you can have several that change with viewing angle? That may be a bit much for an accent, but I'd be looking at those options personally....

Your fire looks awesome.... Maybe just a few coats of carnuba?

I personally think that any flame job needs to be outlined with a pinstripe. To me, flames look cheap without pinstripes. The thing I notice about pinstripes is that if they are close to the same color as the flame or background they tend to "disappear" as you get a few feet away.

You might ask Hootmandingo what his advice is, since he has painted a lot of big dogs.

It needs pinstriped for sure. My option is pinstripe for $200 or repaint and get the colors that I really want for $1500. I would prefer the flames be multi color but I don't hate how it looks now but I'd prefer it to stand out a lot more in the crowd.

That's why I was thinking pinstripe it in a bright color and try it this coming season, if I still don't like it then send it for a full paint job in the fall.

Both of those pictures were from when I picked it up. the bike is much cleaner and has been waxed since then.
