Open primary for 08 k9

New to the forum, but love all the info,can anyone point me in the direction on where to get a BDL or KARATA 3" open primary,I cant get ahold of anyone... I found the Karata intimidator that I really like but need to know for sure it will fit my bike before I drop 2k

Welcome to the forum page, seems I seen your bike on FB, but I hate to inform you but KARATA went out of business from my understanding. The owner is a member on this page so you can look him up, his user name is the same as the company. As far as BDL not sure I think I remember someone saying the backplate wont work or they stopped making the ones for our bikes. You can do a search on the page for open belt drives, or open primaries and read different post ppl have made on the subject. I will even try and find one for you and attach it in a new reply.

Open primary options

So as of recently from what I understand Baker is not making the open primaries for Big Dog anymore and a couple other business are no longer making them either. I'm wanting to maybe dip my toe in an open primary. Just wondering what's out there now, all of our threads are clear back from 2015...

Damn—I had a 4” Karata with the Gillette OBS for sale (from my 2008 K9) and didn’t get any offers for a couple of months, so I dropped the price by $500 and it sold earlier this week. New clutch basket and clutch pack too. Guess I left money on the table—yet again!!
If the Karata is from a 300 rear tire, I bet you’re good to go. They are hard to find.
