open primary for 06 k-9

I am thinking about going to a open primary, I understand this can stop the oil leaks around starter, also clutch problems (slipping),and would like some information on pros and cons. any info would be appreciated, what brands, belt size, etc. and how hard is it to install. thank you in advance for any info.
