Only starts sometimes

I thought I had this shit all figured out. So today I go to take my bike to work and it won't start, doesn't even try kicking over. Makes a weird honk. After a couple more tries it starts. I get half way to work and all lights shut off going 70 so I carefully pull over as the bike is shut off and the horn is blaring. I turn the key off and back on and it starts right up.

WTF?

Need to check your charging system when the bike is running.
Should see about 14v across the battery terminals at about 2000rpm.

Did you bother to charge the battery after you bought it?

Did you have a battery tender on the bike while sitting in the garage?

Make sure all battery termianl connectionas are clean and tight.

Did the battery come with acid in it or did you add the acid afterwards?
Batteries that have acid already installed could be sitting on the dealer shelf for months before being sold. I always buy a dry battery and activate it myself so the warranty is fresh as well.

Thanks for the info. I've had a battery tender on it since I put the new battery in. I'll check the terminals tho. They looked okay when I installed the battery.

The battery already had acid in it, so hopefully that's what's wrong.
