One of the downsides to an Open Primary

SO, I'm out bar hopping today around Maryland and Virginia, when I roll onto a highway and I hear a weird sound from the open belt ---- hummmm, I look down and about an inch of it is MISSING :down:

Not good so I roll back to the house and start tearing her down. Well the belt of course is shot and so is the clutch basket! Great. From the looks of the inside of the jackshaft cover, I must have picked something up that got wedged in there and ground down the area. Shit.

Or maybe it was that drunk blonde that was scoping out my bike at the last bar -- she looked pretty shady. :cheers:

Now to find a belt, clutch basket and clutch pack (it's over due and I'm in there anyway) for a Primo Brute IV.

Good thing I have three bikes - two of the fuckers are down for repairs now! :down:

Pretty sure I had some road debris stuck between the belt and the jackshaft cover that once it ate the belt started commencing to eat that same are of the clutch basket. It'd gone about 5 miles before I heard anything and was rolling onto a highway when I did, so pretty sure I picked something up.

Putting the parts list together today and going to get the engine pulley off today -- tried yesterday, but it would budge. More heat and better impact gun today!

Stuck borrowing the Wife's Harley for a few days -- hate that damn thing -- it don't never break!

So, there really are no advantages to an open primary whatsoever unless you like to wrench more than drive, huh?

The open primary has bonuses;
- wimps are scared by the idea of riding one
- one less fluid to change and give a shit about
- no compensator to get in the way of the acceleration
- they just sound cool
- chicks dig 'em :up:

If you are really riding a BDM and not using it as a garage queen, then you're wrenching on it anyway :cheers:
