Actually, I never turn the throttle before or during starting, because of the added compression. It was just real strange, that seemed to be fixed by turning off then back on.

thanks for the tip on the soleniod contacts. I will check for that.

Maybe it was just because of the hard time turning over the engine. It is real hot here in NH today 90 degrees......
Well it figures it would get hot (After) i leave.... spent all last week on the lake 70-80's get back to MI and it is 90+.
saw a nice BD Chopper at the Weirs early in the week...

Hey N8KAM, dont you just love NH weather. Drives me crazy. Bikes in the shop getting new back tire, and the sun is now out. Weather man said rain for the next three days. How do those bastards keep there jobs. They are never right.

Hey, that Big Dog you saw on the weirs wasn't purple by any chance, was it? Thats my area. I'm in Farmington, about 30 mins from there and ride up there all the time. I was with a friend that has a silver Bourget Low blow.

Hi Ron,
Ya, I put lock washers on it. The drag specilities battery has a thin lead wall where the terminals hook up. Also has this big spacer that seems to act like a lever. Then there is just took much stuff on the post.

Which Harley battery did you go with? Is it safe to go with more CCAs, like the 310 or 350. I think stock was 270 CCA wasn't it?
For my K-9 it was a standard HD softail battery. The wifes 07 Softail Deluxe battery is the exact same size. My Road King is a different size battery. On the larger CCA, most definitely greater than 270 CCA will be fine as long as the fit is good. I don't know if your battery setup is the same as the 07 or not?
