Ok the polishing got out of hand

Dakota, Over the years I have used most of the commercial compounds. I have found that my homebrew works the best.

A bar of green jewelers rouge and some mineral spirits cooked up in a old crock pot works pretty well. Mineral spirits sprayed from a spray bottle onto the rag you've been polishing with will make the polish stretch out a bit. Really no need for that on a bike though. Not enough to polish. I do that with my semi.

Thats the stuff I use. Only thing I do is use the white rouge, it gives a little more color to the aluminum. You can also use Zippo lighter fluid, it will dry faster befor you wipe off.

after you polish it, wipe on some Protect-a-clear. will prevent it from oxidizing and you cant even tell it has a coating on the metal. artists use it to preserve their metalwork / jewelry. a little goes a long way and it can easily be removed with denatured alcohol. the 4oz can is all u need. you wipe down part with denatured alcohol and then wipe it on with a waxing sponge - very light coat. has a 600 degree flash point so works on all the motor parts too. only for bare metal or chrome, don't use on anything painted. stuff is amazing. it is not a polyurethane coating.

Thats funny! I did the same thing when I got my Adams polish in... drinkn beer and and polishing a can... I could of sold a dump truck load to everyone that was there that night LOL!!
