OK, Someone HELP

Application : 2004 BDM DT Chopper , has had EHC RIP upgrade (previous owner)

My Headlight (high-beam) indicator on the Speedo is blinking and also the Headlight , already burned out the Halogen ,(replaced w/LED) same thing , Removed everything checked for frayed wires (even the control's handlebar) pulled the Fluke multi meter out searching for dead shorts, Even Unplugged the Headlight harness just in case i missed something , ON the ECH there are two green LED indicator lights , they are blinking back and forth ,

Do I have a ECH problem ? or a dead short problem ?

Need pictures of your system. If you have LED on the EHC you don't have a RIP upgrade. No lights/LED on that unit.

As others mentioned that is the Original EHC...not upgraded unfortunately.

The two red lights are your High/Low beam showing a fault.

The other two lights down towards the connector should always be illuminated. One is green and the other is yellow. Are those the ones that are blinking? Green one is 'Controller On' and that yellow one on the other side of it just tells you it has 'Power'.

Something is still wrong with your headlight possibly. Is the headlight plug plastic or ceramic? OEM used plastic and sometimes that would melt and cause the issue you have.

Do yourself a favor and read up on the units before you choose.
Definitely , been doing that , but I see that Axel's haven't been out long ,but hes been doing it a while , been buying some stuff from Curtis , was wanting his recommendation too , Got to do something , might wan t to sell it and get another one

Check your headlight wires/connectors under the tank. If you don't find the short, a new EHC/RIP will not help you any.

Use your fluke and trace the wires from the headlight all the way back (plugs under tank as well).

Your EHC is showing a fault, meaning it's working fine, if you upgrade and the short is not found, you will have the same issue.....

As far as axels, his has fuses built in to prevent it from frying with any issues, it will blow the fuse first, not the unit and it is a great product.

Cheers!

I get what all of you are telling me , but is this something that is common ? cause everything else works OK "
Thats why I said check that headlight plug. Trying to save you some bucks

The OEM was plastic and melted frequently, swapping it out for a ceramic one for $8-$10 may fix ya. Take the tank off and unplug your headlight harness and see if you still have problems.
