RIDE IT HARD!!!
It's time to pitch the EHC. I'm getting signs that its ready to take a dump. SO...with what is out on the market for replacement, what is the best route to go and where is the best place / deal to get what I need???

Open to all opinions / suggestions.

Not cheap, but the replacement PDM kit from "bdmperformanceproducts" It's around $650 and about 6 weeks to get after you order it.

Are you 100% sure the EHC is the problem? What is the bike doing or not doing?
Not trying to insult your inelegance, so please don't take this the wrong way...just curious to know what you have found.

I went with the PDM and it's really is a plug in play and so far so good i'm happy with it. Call Bob at Big Dog Performance and check on the 04 PDM I think it's out now.

Thanks for responding everyone. Andrew...not 100% sure but here's the deal. It's a used ENC to start. Having trouble with the tach and headlight working and not working intermittently and can't find a reason for either one when trying to track it down other than it being in the EHC. If you have a better suggestion I'm all ears. Thanks in advance for any info.

Tach ring could be bad, it's a very common problem, especially with older models. Does it not work at all, or flashes on and off? Sometimes dirt covers the sensor on the front of the tach ring and can lead to having it flash on and off brightness wise.
Headlight can be caused from bad connection in headlight bucket. They also had problems with the plug melting and will cause your intermittent problem. Have you looked inside the bucket?
Also, wires under fuel tank can sometimes get chafed and cause intermittent electrical problems.

Andrew...all you have mentioned has been checked. Tach was taken apart checked cleaned and put back together. The headlight plug was replaced and all wires and connections cleaned. All wires a d connections checked and cleaned all the way back to the EHC. ( more than once ) The only thing left in my eyes is the EHC. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

I'm glad you have checked it all. It is possible it's the EHC, just wanted to make sure you have checked everything. It sounds like you have. Just would hate to see you spend the money and wait the 3 or 4 months, and then find out it didn't fix the problem.
