Can you guys tell me what I will need to do a quick install, I just bought a 6 piston caliper 99 down. but will I be able to use my stops, and what about the bars and controls. any info would be great thanks Mike

You can reuse everything including the fork stops but the width of a Bigdog is not standard so you will have to respace the front wheel

Thanks Rub, I am not sure what you mean by respace the front wheel. will it not be centered now with the new stuff.. BTW just got my new 6 piston caliper and its awsome.. (it hs six brake pads in it) just a little odd. Also one other Question can you remember if the wire harness has a connector under the tank or will I have to depin all the items that run thru the fork slot.?? just wondering.

The Bigdog front end is not a standard width so you have to change the spacers your new front end has an axle with it so you will just need different width spacers not much though I think about 3/8 of an inch if I remember all the wiring unplugs under the tank
its reelly an easy swap and you shood be able to sell your old front end for more than you paid for the ultima

Re: The fork - hope your seals we not leaking due to wrong fluid - most HD forks use 15w oil - but BD uses 30w and if someone worked on your bike not knowing BD, they could have put in 15.

The other thing to consider is your trail - K9 is 39 degrees in the frame, 3 in the trees and 12" over. This results is a trail of 4.35". The 5 in the trees could alter your handling. Additonally, your frame may sit slightly lower toward the front.

Yes, there is a disconnect under the tank.

Post a pix when you have to all together.

Yea Lambo I used 30 wt fork oil but the upper tubes were worn and the sliders were worn I knew that it wouldnt last long but I thought I would at least get to the winter.. Not So Much.. I have always wanted the invertrd forks They will be here in about a week. I will post some photos when I get it all done. I think all I need now is a pair of blinker brackets and I will have most of it..

iIf you look at the pitchers of my K9 look and see where I put my turn signals up under the headlight it worked out reel good and you can see them over the headlight in the dark front end length has always been a mystery to me some manufactors 10 over is actually a 12 over and vice versa I have dore the front end swap and it will sit at the same level as it it did before and will corner about the same little softer ride though if you search the forum there are some pitchers of it done somewhere on here and Lambos right dot 5 just like before it will give it a beefer look in the front though
