oily mess today

After opening my garage door today after work I found a rather large oil spot under my footpeg on the primary side...did some checking and found a loose oil filter.. I have riden 700 miles since my last oil change. Has anyone had a problem with a filter vibrating loose? I have been riding for 25 years and this is a first for me.

Nope - not here.

Things do shake loose on these bikes - do a "pre-flight check" before every ride, looking for anything unusual.

When i change the oil and filter i allways like to ride it to get the motor hot and then re snug the filter.

Like I said I have never had one come loose.. I have a feeling it may of been left loose.. May be to much talking and drinking and not remembering to go back and check?

Musta been somthin like that; mines never loosened up to leak either. Compression on the seal should keep it fine imo.

Double check to make sure that the old seal from the last filter was taken off.
