Oil Temp.

Good evening all:

Besides my K9 I also have a 2008 RKSE CVO (110 CI - engine)
I have been to the Harley dealer and told not to worry just normal oil Temp. operating range on a 90F (+) summer day the oil, temp is "235F to 240F" and never above that. The bike has a factory oil cooler. I use 20/50 syn.

Just looking for outside thoughts on oil temp. for a harley with a SE 110 engine.

Thanks

Dude, I wouldn't worry about it! Your scoot goes into thermal mode when it starts to get hot so one of the cylinders shuts down kinda sorts. You'll hear it in the idle, my Deluxe does it. :2thumbs: I run Mobil1 in mine...

Newer Harleys can get up around 250-260 easy sitting in traffic. I run around 230-240 with a oil cooler sitting in traffic on the ultra classic. I would not worry until over 270.

I have the Harley Oil Level and Temperature Dipstick on my 2012 Sceamin' Eagle Street Glide. Even after all of the stop and go traffic getting into the Pentagon parking lot for Rolling Thunder, the temperature only got to 257.

Nothing to worry about.
Keep using a good synthetic oil and your good to go.:2thumbs:

My Big Dog has some mods (XXX carb, 600 cam, Thunderheart ignition) and neither has a stock exhaust. The Big Dog definitely has more power and torque.

I have a 09 streetglide and I put that harley dipstick with the digital readout on it. I added a oil cooler and run amsoil.
With temps here in the 105 range I have seen 260 so far

I would be surprised if in traffic in the summer it doesn't go over that
