If you are thinking digital, here you go

Round Oil Temperature

I may go the same way, I already have the 2 1/16 Cup all I need it the Temp Sensor and the Gauge.

Carlos :whoop:
that's the one I have , gauge mounted on bars ,along with the tach.
it works well, but doesn't read accurately until 100 degrees.

Mfr, tells you that in the instructions. no big deal
but a little scary when you see 20 degrees, and its 50 outside air temp..

Thanks for that link Carlos, best idea I've seen so far. I can even get it in Celsius, which is much better for me.

Interesting, and thanks for posting the comment about sensor placement.

On my big dog I did a very simple thing. My oil reservoir plug needed replacing. On the 03 chopper it is under the seat, not sure about other models. But I bought a plug with a built in thermostat. Yes you have to get off the bike and lift the seat but it's an easy fix and you can check your oil temp. But this is reservoir temp not true oil temp as it is leaving the motor where it is the hottest!

For one reason or another, BDM has these for ridgebacks only. I am not sure why but I confirmed with Donna that the BDM ones made only works with the Ridgeback. Anybody else heard this?

These come in long, med & short. I have a long one. Hot oil is hot oil. This is the same diameter as my Big dog. They make differant size diameter ones also. Mine works just fine.

I have ZERO doubt about that. What I am questioning is whether or not the gauge will function on the newer style tanks. I seriously doubt it but one newer knows, hence I asked the question. The newer tanks is only about 3" deep where we fill the oil and I have serious doubts any oil gets there while riding.

is there any way I could talk you into taking a picture of the cup right next to the cylinder head on your bike? I am now thinking two of those gauges, one temp and one pressure mounted neatly in that cup right next to the head of my engine.

Just thinking for now but I really want a term gauge in Celsius and I really liked that idea you posted.
