LOL:lol:......I thought I was a guage whore!!!!!!!! I love gauges,have them ALL OVER my Muscle Cars............but you might have me beat:roll:......:)lol

No worries whatsoever mate. I just wanted to know if there actually was one designed for the S&S or the BDM.

Three engines, all two strokes and old school requires monitoring at 430HP....

Great Curtis, now we are talking. The description was kinda vague and i could not see the instructions due to a bad link. Have you ever mounted one of these? If so, where would one mount one a K-9? Where do I mount that sending unit? It is brass so if it is visible I would have to do some mods.... But I feel a lot closer to the objective than I was when I started the thread....:2thumbs:

I have not mounted one yet but have been contemplating it lately just haven't gotten around to it. I have air ride so I have designed a dual gauge mount that mimics the stock air ride cup BD was selling.
Mounting location is really going to be a personal preference for most. I think the best location for the sending unit is in line with the oil as it first leaves the motor as this will give you about the truest reading you can get.
I could put together a basic kit, if enough are interested, that would allow an owner to install it and mount it.

That's were I have my oil temp gauge on my Ultra classic. I got rid of the delta temp gauge( who really cares what the outdoor temp is when your riding)! Anyway I pulled the delta temp gauge and put in an oil temp gauge and put the sensor in right where the oil line leaves the motor heading to the oil filter.

Im using my bike as a general reference, since we all pretty much look the same. If you want to see it while riding, then mount it on top of the rear top end of yr engine. Maybe try to hide it behind the air intake above the carb/throttle body. If you dont need to see it while riding, Id mount it near the starter. Ultimately its up to you. Thats what makes us custom.

That's what I want, but I do not want something that doesn't look like it was meant to be there. I guess I'll make something eventually but was hoping for a simple and neat solution...

my oil temp sender is mounted at the bottom ,of one of my oil coolers.
out of the way , however is aprox 50-60 degrees lower than the oilbag temp.
(measured with cooking thermometer)

I am going to move it to the oil bag, rather know whats going into the motor rather than after ran through two coolers..
