Oil pressure gauge

There are a few threads on this but I have one question. I want to install a oil pressure gauge in the tappet screen hole. From reading about this, the problem seems to be heat on the gauge and the gauge fill plug melting. An old post recommends an autometer #2173 as it has no fill plug. The ones I find when searching "autometer 2173" comes up a autogauge 2173 and they have a plastic fill plug. Can someone point me to a gauge that has worked well for them in this position?

I have an Autometer guage (2176; white) mounted in this position.
Works great! No problems.

My guage died a while back, when I go back to having a oil psi, I'm going to add it to my digital dash that I'm building (slowly)

Mine is mounted in the tappet hole. I have had no problems. Put some silicone on the fill plug.

On my Mastiff i have the Arlen Ness pressure gauge set up mounted to my rocker box and its going to tappet hole. On the bagger i bought a special tee where ill be putting both the bikes pressure sensor, and the Jerzee pressure gauge even tho it will be mounted on the rocker box. Thinking of going back and doibg that to the Mastiff also.

This is what I put on mine which I had issues with Clearance on the Lifter block and the fitting at first but thanks to Shannon’s advice at wildsteedsworx.com I got it on. It’s a jersey customs glycerin fill gauge with the fill plug. I put the chrome cover from ebay that slips over the outside of the gauge and it keeps the Black fill plug from coming out and I’ve had no issues with it. Be sure to get the 0 to 60 gauge wherever you get it and not 0 to 100 gauge.

I hated having mine on the tappet screen mount -- made cleaning the tappet screen more work having to fuss with the gauge every time.
