oil pressure gage

Alright my Big Dog experts....I bought an oil pressure Gage and after reading a couple of threads was ready to put it on. I then looked at the bolts I was gonna take off and saw it was not the same as the one it was suppose to have. I thought it would be OK to get off anyways and boy was I wrong.....as you can tell from the picture I have tried a couple of things n different ways to include an impact screwdriver with negative results.:bang: any suggestions on how to get this off without messing up everything else?

Here's some ideas...
1) Vise grips
2) Tire iron with the flat tip
3) Large flat tip screw driver put all your weight on it and using a wrench near the handle turn it
4) Buy special wrench from S & S

.... what Brew said. I did use a very large screwdriver and all my body weight on it... it did back-off! :up:

Probably. But I use direct heat with a propane torch on the bolt head for 20-30 seconds. Of course this takes some common sense when working around fuel lines, hoses etc.

1. Use the right tool. Go buy a large screw driver that fits properly.
2. CAREFULLY heat around the bolt. Not the bolt. The main reason heat works is that metal expands when heated. So you want the hole to grow larger, not the bolt.

X2. Penetrating oil should of been my #2 before the heat.

Btw I've never used or heard of Tri Flow. I always used Liquid Wrench penetrating oil. Tri Flow better?

Take the flat screw driver bit out of the impact screw driver and they are usually hex shaped, find a six point socket to fit and use a 1/4 or 3/8 ratchet with the flat bit. My impact screw driver bits are 3/8 drive.

I bought a large long flathead screwdriver that just fit the slot. used a box wrench on the driver shaft for torque.

I could be wrong or misunderstanding the post. Isn't the gauge suppose to go into the hole to the left of the one in the picture?

The 100psi guage didn't give good low pressure readings so we went with the 60 psi gauge.

We purchased this from Jerzee Customs:
Performance Liquid Filled Oil Pressure Gauge 0-60psi 'White' Dial $22.25
The WHITE dial can be seen the best over any others. We both love em!

Check out this link: The Jerzee Custom also has a plug in the side of the case but has been fine last year and onward..
I also bought the JCF-001 Dual Adapter Fitting to share the sender and gauge but the wall thickness of the 1/8npt into the engine case was too thin for me to risk using it and have it break off while riding. So, I went with the tappet filter adapter for now.

I went to Napa and picked up this handy dandy little tie rod end tool. It was too thick to fit in the slot but with a little work with a grinder in now fits perfectly.
