Oil Light

Was riding home from work on Tuesday and noticed that the oil light came on. So I shut it down and called rolling thunder. Trailered the bike to them and they told me that it sheared the keyway in the oil pump and welded the gears to the shaft. Apparently Big Dog as never seen or heard of this before and want to investigate it further. It sounds like they want the motor taken out and sent to them. If that happens to be the case I get a new motor, the bike only had 1600 miles on it so i guess it was still new. I asked the dealership if they are going to replace the motor if I could upgrade to the 121 wedge but I guess that just wont bolt right in. That would be a nice upgrade. Rolling Thunder of Salt Lake City Utah has been top notch for warranty problems. Just last week my clutch cable snapped and with in 2-3 hours they were picking up my bike for me and no out of pocket expense. I didnt even buy the bike from them, I bought it used and paid $50 for the warranty transfer. I just hope when the warranty is up I dont have so many problems.

thats awesome.....I recently purchased a K9. I have learned that the Big Dog customer service is second to none. I am very pleased with how they handle the little troubles I've had

X-wedge is not supposed to fit in the prostreet bikes.

You can make anything fit with a torch and a welder. I know it wont just bolt in, it was just a thought that would be the cats a$$.

new motor already on the way and its all covered under warranty. I guess I only had 1600 on the old one but better now than after the warranty.
