oil light question

hello guys....05 bulldog with pdm wiring system, dakota digital speedo...my question is my low press. oil light was working when new, say 6years ago...then went to working part time, at which point i just installed an oil press guage. just so i would know...now oil press light doesnt ever come on...got the tank off and am trying to figure out how to trace down whats wrong...i can unplug the 8pin plug at the tach and check it there...im showing the orange wire to be the oil sensor light...how do i test the light in the tach ring??? does a negative turn light on....i think the bulb may be bad..........not completely understanding the low press sensor...i think it grounds out and trips light?

I would find out what pin it is on ur bezel connection and with the connector off run a straight jumper wire to it. U will see if it comes on. If not then u know it's bad, if so ur tracing something else. Good luck

i did jump a negative wire to battery to orange wire and no light with the key in on position....did not run wire to positive as i dont want to short something out
