oil light is on ?

Your idle may be too low! Does the light go out when you throttle up some? If so, bump the idle up to 1000 rpms.

Do you have an oil pressure gauge, if not you may need one. The light is okay but not very assuring. If your dog is carbureted you may want to bump the idle a little to see if it goes out. I would also check Tappet Screen to make sure it is not clogged. There are several oil trouble shooting concerns in the S & S service manual. Do a search and find out what others have done to resolve the issue you are having.
or
Tell us more about your issue, when did you last change the oil filter, have you removed the oil pump at anytime if you did who's gaskets did you use (S & S gaskets should be used on the SSW engines). Were you riding when this happened, at what RPM does the light go off or does it stay on forever. Than maybe we can give a better lead as to what to look for.

Clean your tappet screen or look for a grounded wire under your tank. Its the orange one

Have you been riding in a rain? If it's very dim it may well be a water inside the speedo, that lit all my dummie lights nicely, or a short as Raywood said. Same thing actually.
