Oil Light! HALP!

So I have a 2009 BD Pitbull. It's been good to me over the years. Currently out of the blue, I was riding around for about 5 minutes and it started to putt, it cut off as I was riding, and the oil light came on. Once I try to crank it back up, it just turns over and oil light comes back on. Any advice what could be wrong? Thanks in advance.

Oil light seems to be working just fine! He has power on, engine not running as far as I understood the problem is rather engine died?
So, you have fuel? You have spark? Let's start from there. You said engine started to putt first, sounds like lack of fuel?

Yes, I'll be riding, then you can hear it start to put, then just cuts off. No black smoke or anything. Then oil light comes on.

When it the engine is cold, it cranks right up then about 5 minutes into the ride is when it cuts off and oil light comes on. If you try to crank it immediately after, it just turns over. Once the engine cools down, it cranks right up again.

Don't know much about your bike year wise , but your symptoms sound like a crank sensor problem

Loosen up your gas cap while you are riding. The cap might not be venting properly and
not allowing fuel to flow into the carb. If this does not help at least you have eliminated this
possibility.

Robert is this a hit and run? Your going to need some more help if the bike is shutting down on its own. Unless the gas cap test fixed your problem!!!
