manual says. #6 is your problem most likely.

1. remove outer and inner primary covers.
2. slide rotor off of the crankshaft.
3. loosen the four allen head screws from the stator using a 5/32" allen wrench.
4. loosen setscrew in motor block to remove stator plug.
5. remove stator.
6. to install, take a small amount of RTV silicone and apply to the stator plug.
7. insert stator plug into motor block, setting length of stator plug to line on the slug.
8. apply loctite 2440 to the threads of the four, 5/32" allen head screws and install stator to the block. tighten the screws in a 1-3 2-4 patten and torque to 45 in/lbs.
9. slide the rotor onto the crankshaft placing it over the stator.
10. install inner and outer primary covers.

There is a little set screw down there, loosen in up and try to pull the plug out a little. Don't pull it out all the way! Clean it all up with brake cleaner or acetone, then goop some RTV on there and push it back in. Let it dry overnight before you start the bike.

Camaro,
Moe is right.
I had the same thing on my 03 Mastiff after a 'few' miles. I noticed a bit of oil seeping thru. I cleaned the area really good and then got some black silicone RTV that is made to work around oil & fuel (permatx) and put a bead around it.

Then, you can use spit, vaseline or hand cleaner on your finger to smooth out the RTV. Looks factory and hasn't leaked again in over a year!

HOWEVER,
Narrow's advice is complete and fixes the problem from the inside and is how I would do it if I was tearing into the bike to say.....install an upgraded charging system.:D
