Oil Leak from Front Cyclinder Rocker Box

Good evening fellow Riders. I have a small oil leak from my front cylinder head on top, just underneath the rocker box. I have TP rockerboxes. I want to remove the top cover to the rockerbox to check the torque specs on the bolts just underneath and make sure they are all tight and in spec before I buy new gaskets. Is there anything I need to do before removing just the top cover? Or is there something I should expect? I have attached a pic below to show where the leak is coming from. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Just replace the gaskets.
I'm about to do the front one on my K-9 as its been leaking for a bit but it was riding season, now that it's a little chillier (not cold) I'll pop it off and replace it hopefully this week or next.

Yes, replace the gasket. Tightening the bolts may slow it but won't stop it

After you change the gasket out, before each ride, make sure you let the motor warm up in the driveway before just hopping on it and rolling. The rocker box and jug heat up at different rates. If you takeoff before it warms up properly you blow a seal again.

Awg, yes. Looking for guidance on how to proceed. Never done this before. I didn't want to have to replace the gaskets if I didn't need to, but if that is recommended, then that is what I will do. Just not completely sure on how to do it. I don't think i can just take the cover off and then take the rockerbox off. I am sure I have to do something with the internals of the rockerbox, or at least that is what I have been told. I wish there were some of ya'll closer to assist. But at least I have the forum.

Well when I have to do some kind of repair I get as much info as I can from the internet and this forum. I always research the problem first. The I just take one step at a time. Take the 4 bolts off the top and take a look at whats next in line to do. Someone will help you out. Sometimes it just takes time to get an answer.

Steve, just get the right gaskets for your TP rocker boxes, and I can send you the torque specs....TP gaskets should be 'metal' gaskets....the kit comes with everything you need.....you WILL need to re-adjust your pushrods...unless you are lazy, then mark them, and re-install them with torque specs...just hope you don't strip your bolts.....

Good evening, well I was able to take a closer look at the bike. I took the lid off the rockerbox and checked the tightness of the bolts. A lot of them were not tight. Everything looked good, so I tightened all the bolts to the proper spec. I know all of you said to just replace the gaskets, and I plan on it. Just thought since the bolts were loose, I would tighten and then see how it works our first. I took the bike out for about 20 min or so and hand no leaks. I plan on taking it out a little longer maybe 45 min or so and see what happens. I plan on ordering the gaskets and working on it over the holidays. I am trying to be really careful. The book is not as helpful as I would like, but Marky-Marc your videos do help out quite a bit. I need to learn how to get the push rod covers off and figure out how to remove everything. I do appreciate all the advice and help with all my endeavors.
