Oil Leak - Any Help Is Appreciated

Wildthing

Got Life?
I got a new oil leak the other day.
My cylinder gaskets are getting squeezed out at
the bottom of the front cylinder base
where it bolts onto the bottom engine case.

Oil has started to leak out of the squeezed gasket.:(
What causes this?
Is this a common problem?

Is there enough room to get the front cylinder off
with the piston down or does the motor need to pulled
to replace those gaskets?

Thanks for any help or advice on this

It's always been my understanding that an Evo motor needs a good warm up prior to riding off. I always warm my motor up till the rocker covers get warm. Without this you have to possibility of blown head gaskets before all parts expand from heat.

The part can be replaced in the bike.

Good luck,
Ray

Thanks Ray!

I wasn't sure if I could get the front cylinder
all the way off or if it would hit the frame first.

I warm up the bike 98% of the time,
especially if it is cool or cold outside.
So I don't think that is why it happened.
