True, you're supposed to let the scoots warm up until the rocker covers become warm to the touch before taking off...

It will stop when you install a new gasket. They can't heal themselves and its a one piece gasket.

There is a how to "how to do a top end" depends how mechanic you are. You can order a rebuild gasket kit and it will take you a good 3 hours. Do your research here and good luck. Biggest thing is make sure your studs didn’t stretch. Replace them is what S&S recommends and will lead to may happy miles of riding. It’s a good winter project if you have a garage.

My 2 cents:
Pull the motor and take it to a local mechanic who knows what he is doing. You can mess up more than you think if you don't know what you are doing. He can check the bottom end, studs, rings, pistons, heads and everything else that should be checked.
I see guys all the time start their bikes and then sit there and rev them up without a warm up. It's a hard lesson to learn but a lot of us learned it the hard way. Even if I stop and the bike sits for only an hour I still let it warm up 5 - 10 minutes before I take off. Good luck.

Bro2 had his rear lower cylinder gasket replaced on the bike, a 2007 Bulldog.
Problem was caused by repeated running the bike too hard too fast after it cooled down.

I roll out of the garage, put my gear on, start my bike, let it idle about a minute and roll on down the road being easy on the throttle. I don't get on it until my oil temp rises to normal range. Works for me and haven't had any issues with any bikes.

You can try and re-torque your head/jugs bolts.
Not very common, but it has proven me right on more than one occasion.
Just remove the rocker covers and with the correct toruque setting on the wrench tighten opposits, ensure motor is cold.
I have had an Evo motor start to leak after a hard ride once it cooled down.
Bolts streatched i recon.

Good point... you aint loosing anything with trying it and you might be lucky enough and the gaskets are still fine....
Definitely WARM HER UP b4 revving her.... those 3-5 minutes of warming up will save lots of money on the long run :2thumbs:

No the motor does not need to come off the bike.
