:)Well it's that time of year I was wondering what type of oil others use in their bigdogs. The bike's a 04 chopper 107 I was thinking about using AMSOIL 20w-50 synthetic can it be used in engine, trans and primay? or:down:

I talked with bigdogtech and he suggested Spectro Golden 4 semi-syn 20w-50 engine oil, and spectro 6 speed baker trans oil. The trans oil was expensive and nobody around my area had it. Had to order it online but I have noticed a big difference in how easy it is to find neutral even when I come to a complete stop. (never was able to do that before) As for the primary oil, can't remember what he used.

Does anyone use or have an opinion on Lucas brand oil? It may not be the most popular brand or readily available because I haven't heard much about it. I found it locally and am thinking of giving it a try for the engine at least.

isn't the straight 50wt too thick for colder climates? I see you are in Canada.
I'm running a 124" and when it does get hot in the summer my oil light comes on at idle. I'm also running an oil cooler. Only have trouble after driving around for about an hour in stop and go traffic. No problems on the highway. I always warm the bike up real good before i ride. Once it gets colder a don't ride.
