Oil choices

I know this is a can of worms but I have an 04 with S&S 107 and Baker 6 spd. I have had nothing but Harleys for the last 25 years. I don’t know what oil to go with I just bought this bike and want to service it

Yeah you open the can, but I'll jump in here first. Off the shelf for the engine I would use mobile one 20w50 v-twin. For the primary, I use the Harley primary oil. You basically have a Harley primary anyway, and this oil is designed for that. And for the transmission, use a Lucas 75w90 gear lube.
Other guys are going to suggest some other oils and they are perfectly fine also.

Here we go....for the primary, I use the cheapass type F trans fluid. Motor, Mobil 1, Lucas, ect (a decent oil), trans, a decent 75w90 oil of choice.

What HMAN suggestion is on the oil splits. Now, my can of worm is mix. So say AFT with syn in the trans. ATF with 75w. Syn mixed in the primary w/ATF.

I kept on mixing old 40yr old 50w with any 20/50 -10w40-30 and expected nothing to happen as this round of oil changes, I've never seen a cleaner oil filter pleat with this same mix over and over... light sweet crude - you can't create or destroy your engine, hello worm?

No problem Jeff. Good information to know. This is what the manual is calling for pretty much.View attachment 92922
Any High Quality Motorcycle oil is OK, Mobil One, Castrol, Revtech etc.
I use either Mobil One or Castrol -- depends on what I catch on sale!
Primary since I have a Bandit Clutch I use ATF Type F since the Spectrol they recommend is harder to find.
Transmission - as above Lucas Gear Oil or similar.
