Offset rear tire

Was just wondering if it is common for the rear tire to be offset to one side of the fender. The tire sits approximately half an inch away from the fender on the left side and maybe 1 and a half to 2 inches away from the fender on the right side. Is this normal? I’m asking because my tire has been bottoming out a lot.

I wish I had more money.
Yeah I think that if it were that bad ther belt alignment would not be working for you at all.

Left side is less than half an inch away from fender.

Right side is one inch from fender.

2003 Chopper, Left side drive. Belt looks fine.

Did you recently change your struts? Or put on a sissy bar? I know when I changed mine I had to open the holes up in the fender due to the holes in the struts not being perfect and had the fender sit actually higher on one side which also caused it to be closer to the tire.

No, Stock struts. Seems to sit the same height across the top of the tire.

Waykool,
I notice that you have an 03 Big Dog. Remember, the 03s had fiberglass fenders (at least mine did). This could be the fender just being a bit warped.

Of course, DO check your tire and belt alignment but the reality may be that your fender is warped in that area due to time or heat.

Just a thought.....

Not really...it's only a .25 inch off. Belt been chirping? Take the advice of slinger and measure from your swing arm. If it's found to be square then your fender is tweaked. You bee picking up heffers at the bar??:whoop:
