OK, here we go again, I called BDM proformance products. They looked up my bike from the Vin#. BUT, they can't tell me what the offset is for a open primary. I have a Rolling Thunder chopper frame. I have talked to 4 different open drive makers and all but 1 says there is 1 drive for the 03/04 BDM chopper. Karata says depend's on what frame because there were 2 different frames made. I have had some comments on another thread about my questions about this open primary stuff, I'm sorry guys but I'm getting told so many different things and 3/4 of it is contradicting statements from factory reps. Primo says 1.5" reguardless of frame. Guys on here say 1 7/16 or 1.5 depends on the frame . BUT what frame goes with what figure. I do not want to f%$& up my bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your offset is 1 7/16" if you have a 2004 Chopper with the 117" motor. The 2003 choppers used a standard HD primary, so the offset could be 1.5". Not sure about the 107" 2004 models, but I believe they also used a HD primary. IF you want to know for sure, call rolling thunder, their answer is the only one that matters.

If you get the wrong offset, you won't fuckup your bike unless you're a real bonehead and ignore the fact that there is a 1/16" gap between the motor plate and transmission. If for whatever reason RT doesn't know, just stick with primarys that use seperate spacer plates, so worst case you can just get 1/16" machined off.

He was correct Pops, Others have told me 1.5'' and 2 Primary companies said the 2004 models had NO off set! I will be the first person last week to stand up and wave my hands saying I do not know shit about a open primary drive. I have had people on this site give me a hard time about the amount of threads and questions I have asked. BUT in a very short time frame I know a shit load more than when I started. I have learned that there are people giving advice who know less than I did when I started investigating open primaries, and they work for companies who are making the product I want to buy. It is my humble belief that if you pointed a gun at Performance Machine inc they still couldn't give you a correct answer, nor could Barnett. To Jesse,Karata,Moespeeds, Vince81 and Pops thank you for all the input, and the time!

Take a serious look at systems with a seperate spacer. They are tit to machine, any machine shop could easily mill off the difference and if it gets screwed up your only out a spacer, not a whole motor plate. Good luck.
