Odometer Question

My odometer/trip meter displays upon starting. After riding a while it disappears. Miles keep recording. Any ideas why? 2002 Mastiff

Still have power to the warning lights and indicators? Sounds like power and speedo signals are still getting in there. Not sure about the '02s, but there are plenty of places for a loose signal/power to the display

I'm not advocating you open the speedo up (it's a pain), but when it happens again -- and you're stopped--give the wires feeding the speedo housing a giggle to see if something changes.

I have a 02 pit that the speedo was acting up. I pulled it out of the dash and my 4 pin connector was barely hanging on . I pushed it back in and been working fine since. Im not sure if yours is the same design though.
