Odometer Miles??

Does anyone know where the Miles or odometer reading is stored? Are the miles on my bike stored in the EHC (computer) or in the speedo itself?

Well thats a strange one, had my EHC read for faults and even tho had changed my speedo as it had got waterlogged it told me exact mileage the bike had done! Need more info.

Did the dealer do it? They tell Autometer the miles and have the new one sent with the miles the old one had or what they have on record for your bike. Autometer 866-248-6357. You would think it would be stored in the EHC but both Big Dog and Autometer confirm, in the speedo...

Waterboy is correct, I've been down this road with the speedo. They call in the mileage when the new speedo is ordered. Took a month or so to get the new speedo so now mine has 1500 or more miles then what it shows.

Yea, the dealer is telling me to guesstimate the miles I will ride while I am waiting for the new one and add that to the miles that I have. Not a percise science by any means...

A thought! I am not exactly sure I am correct on this but I replaced the speedo on mine and they told me it was calibrated correctly. I know running 70 mph my speedo says 80mph. I have not calibrated it yet, but I am thinking the speed is off, it is probably adding more miles than it should also. I found the calibrating instructions in here, just haven't done it yet.

I can e-mail the percise 3 page directions for calibration that I have direct from autometer. I did my new speedo today and it is balls on accurate. Let me know if you need them.
