Just got the bike at an auction and don't know the history. Well I would start with a new battery for openers. The lights and horn and all that shit will come on but it probably does not have enough to turn the motor. If that doesn't works then you will know that at least the battery is new. Next you start looking for other things like EHC gone south, or short some where or your right control PC board has gone south or your starter is fried. Do a search on here and find out what others have done to deal with the same issue you are having.

I'd start by checking for power to the solenoid.( good strong power) at the green wire with the female spade connector. That click could be the solenoid trying to pull in but doesn't have enough power, I think I would also check the contacts inside the solenoid for dirty contacts. while in there push the plunger in with your finger to see if that does anything. If none of that works, move up to the start relay, if there is one on that bike, as far as the EHC, I'm totally lost on that! good luck!

Must say I do like the contrast on the grips a lot better than just plain drab chrome, and the pegs look better also in my opinion. Yeah I know what they say about opinions. (but mine don't stink) Stay safe and have a good trip,

There was a post just a wile back, and I can't honestly recall who put it up, but he used rubber pipe couplers and cut bands tha looked pretty good on his pegs. I'll have to look it up.@chubs BTW, good point about the left boot toe..... I´ve been thinking about it.... going to improvise something in there. Glad only did the right side last night.

. How about some more info. You say you bought at auction, have you ever had it running or was it this way when you got it? Start with battery as Carlos mentioned, sometimes they test fine but still don't have enough to turn these motors. If you've never run it, make sure the motor in fact turns to eliminate anything locked up, try push start just to make sure the motor spins, then go from there.The battery was low when I first saw the bike. We put it on a charger and the bike did start and run. Got it back home and charged and tested battery, installed it but will not crank. All other electrical things works, like no power to the starter.Talk about hijacking a post,

Really nice condition beautiful paint, chrome wheels and pulley, came with extra new rear tire, owners and service manual. Paid $8,500,00 and it did crank and start at that time.How'd ya do at the auction Mike? get a fair deal? how's the rest of the bike? Good luck with the starting issue,
Buy a new battery just replace it now at least you will know the age this big motors eat batteries every 2-3 years q
Didn't think of possibility of motor being locked, but wouldn't that make a loud "clunk" if the starter engaged? Still leaning toward low voltage or bad solenoid contacts. Keep us updated Mike and good luck getting er up!
