not another oil thread!!

Want to some input from guys in the oil know. I just bought 6 quarts of redline 2050 synthetic thinking its the best. After reading through all the oil posts on here it seems amsoil is the preferred oil. I looked up pricing and found amsoil to be about 5 bucks cheaper a quart. I paid about 15 bucks a quart for redline thinking it was the shit. I know oil is mostly preference but I'm thinking now if Raywood uses it I probably should be too. Anyone used redline and switched to amsoil? Should I return the redline?

Any good 20w50 synthetic oil is pretty good oil. I admit I do like amsoil and it will not hurt to switch back if you want to. Im using mobil 1 V twin synthetic oil as its common to get anywhere... I like to take trips where I may need to change oil on the road and that is the reason I use it.

ANy good oil will do and it is more preference. Key is to chang it out routinely, IMHO even if it is synthetic, change it out on normal routine. Oil is the blood of the engine and can not see not refreshing it over $30-$40 on a 30k bike or for that matter even a 10k Kia!

I used Amsoil for years. I switched to Brad Penn 20w50 about two years ago, its a syn blend oil. I work for an oil distribution co. so I can get just about any oil I want. This stuff is the best oil I've ever used in my bike. Does not get near as hot as it used to. Also is quieter in my 107 than Amsoil. About half the price too. Also made in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Check it out. Penn Grade 1 High Performance Oil

Auto Oil? Really? You should be using a Vtwin Air Cooled Formula.

There are some pretty big differences between the two.

Sounds good because of the high amount zinc in it. Beware of the new API SM grade oils. Here the zinc is reduced to nearly nothing to protect the O2 Sensors and catalytic converters of high reving engines.
Nothing for our old style EVO!!

I myself do not like the low viscosity of the Penn at 210°C. It's less than the Amsoil and the Mobil1.
