i took my bike to bigdog shop in wichita ks. had a loud noise in the topend.
changed out the lifters in hopes that would fix it (no such luck)
so i left it there they call me and said they found a weak valve spring
i told them to change out the springs they installed the .640 springs.
they were going to change the base and head gasket so i told them to
go ahead and hone the jugs and replace the rings as well.
the next day i get a phone call and both pistons and jugs were gaulded
(theres some good news right there) so, we bore it to .30 over now
new pistons rework the heads i picked it up yesterday topend is still noisy
they say it sounds normal nothing out of the usual all i know is it never
sounded like this before. any advice would be helpful
thanks J.P SMITH

Other than a noisy topend, what else did you notice from a weak spring and a gaulded piston? Did you happen to have it dynoed?

they where all scared up front and rear of both pistons on the skirts
below the rings it was from a lean condition i'm guessing i put a new 2 into 1
real short pipe on and never checked the plug after i installed it i had a .31
and a .74 they thing it developed a intake leak and really leaned out
