Got everything but a bearing heater. Can I just put the shaft in the freezer to get the bearing to slide over it? I was going to heat the case and freeze the bearings for install also. I've read that this is the preferred method? Also, I called Grainger inquiring on Arbor shims in sizes .025, .010, and .005 w/ 7/16 ID and they couldn't locate any. Any chance you have part numbers on these? Thanks!

Hey Brian thanks for posting videos. I was having the same noise issue with my 08 pitbul. I was about to put in my second new throwout bearing thinking that's where my noise was coming from. So after watching vedios I decided to check input shaft and sure enough when I spun it by hand I could hear noise in bearings. Decided to talk with Bobby about it and shipped it out to him yesterday to get
rebuilt.

To put it together it is very easy on the parts to use a bearing heater to swell just the inner race on the bearings to fit over the shaft... I dont like to heat the whole bearing as it can harm the inner cage that holds the ball bearings in as well as make the outter race harder to press into the case.
The shaft should be cool and make sure that the surfaces are super clean and free of any high spots. Take care in how much you heat the case as it is aluminum and thin in some spots. Shims I can get you any size you need. Also make sure the shaft has the radius cut near where the bearing goes and its not a sharp 90.

Ordered my transmission rebuild kit through Baker a few days ago and asked Matt what bearings they use in thier kits and if they were made in Korea, Japan, or China. He said they use INA and NSK bearings, one of the those brands were made in Germany and the other in the USA and both have had great results. These are the Brand/part numbers I was given:

Left Main Bearing - INA 3205J
Left Counter Bearing - NSK 6304
Right Main Bearing - INA 6209

When I looked at the bearings currently in my transmission, I found that I have the following and noticed that the INA was stamped "JAPAN" and this is the left main bearing that had play.

Left Main Bearing- INA 3205J Made in Japan
Left Counter Bearing- FAG 6304 Made in Korea
Right Main Bearing - FAG 6209 Made in Korea

So to eliminate the possibility of installing another weak bearing I'd like to install SKF. I have found the left counter "SKF 6304JEM" and Right Main
"SKF 6209JEM" but have had no luck with the Left Main in SKF. Where is the most accurate place to get these or another good bearing so I'm not getting fakes? I've tried numerous sites online but they would only sell to a company. Thanks!

Found a local SKF dealer and here is the info they provided. Got all three for $110 w/ shipping to replace what Baker is sending. Guess we will see if these last more than 19K.

LEFT MAIN
SKF 3205A (C3) BRG
25 mm ID, 52 mm OD, 20.6 mm Width, Open, Double Row Deep Groove Ball Bearing


LEFT COUNTER
SKF 6304 JEM (C3) BRG
20 mm ID, 52 mm OD, 15 mm Width, Open, Single Row Deep Groove Ball Bearing

RT MAIN
SKF 6209 JEM (C3) BRG
45 mm ID, 85 mm OD, 19 mm Width, Open, Single Row Deep Groove Ball Bearing
