Yeah what you want is a AGM battery. If you get one from HD, its for a softail. Just make sure its a AGM. They are way better!

Get the battery. Make sure its good and charged. Drop it in. Let er rip. Hold off on the extra ground to the frame. Its best to do one thing at a time so you know what you're doing and what the fix is.

And dogvet... that is a great post. I'm printing that one.

thats what i got AGM. tight squeeze though and had to do a shaving on the spacers but she fired quicker than it ever has. put about 60 miles on it tonite and it ran great! hopefully the major bugs are worked out. Thanks again guys, much better to ride it than push her around the garage!:2thumbs: :2thumbs:

that was my next question Raywood, i always kept it hooked up to the tender, do you have to with an AGM as well?

I'll help Ray out since he such a busy man. Yes you should leave the tender on whenever you are not riding.

Hunter, probably a little different with your older model but the newer models drain 2% of the battery daily according to the manual!

Mine is on life support everyday when it's in the garage.
