No Spark!

Had the bike up on the lift yesterday to change oil and detail it. Went to start today, it turns over fine but no fire. It's getting gas but when I pulled the plug and put it against the motor, no spark. I used a spray bottle to shine up the motor and then cleaned in between the grooves. No problems before this, any ideas?

I should have caught the oil change line but didn't. Hey get yourself a :2thumbs: K&P Oil filter and you won't have to remove your crank sensor to do a oil change and there one of the "BEST" upgrades you can do for your motors life...Plus it's a reusable filter and looks good to...

Tony, Sorry I didn't get back with you before somebody chimed in, but that is the beauty of this forum. Lots of people willing to help. Yes it is normal to be oily. Easy way to test the crank position sensor is to disconnect the plug wires and unplug the sensor. Set your DMM to measure AC volts and measure across both pins of the plug. While cranking the engine, you should see AC voltage greater than 1 volt. If no voltage registers, replace the crank sensor. Good luck!!!
