No power

I have an 07 Mastiff with the Wire plus installed and has been running fine until a couple of weeks ago. The first thing i noticed was when i would turn the ignition switch on I wasn't getting power the speedo or compression releases, but it still started and ran fine. As soon as i realized my speedo didn't have power I turned off the bike and restarted it and everything was working properly. This morning i went to start it and it did the same thing no power to the speedo or compression releases, but it started. This time i noticed it right away and turned the bike off, only this time i could not get the power back on to the speedo, so i tried to start it to see if it would still start and as soon as i hit the starter button I lost power to everything and I don't know where to start to figure out how to get the power back. the first thing i did check was the battery which is a lithium. I hook the charger to to and the LED lights flashed on the over discharged battery spot. I charged thre battery, but still didn't get any power to the bike. I have the wp version of the ehc and if it has a circut breaker can someone tell me where it's at, because it seems something like that or a fuse has blown. I also check the only 2 fuses i could find going to the + battery post and they where fine, but I'm fairly certain the fuses where for the LED lights and the after market air ride systems. Any sugestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Unless it was removed or relocated during installation of the wire plus you should have either a breaker or a inline fuse from the Voltage regulator. if its tripped or blown the batt will not get a charge and the bike will not run. If it is one of these even with a new battery and if it starts it will just pull the battery down. My VR slowly died but I didn't notice it unitl I took a long trip and got a no start.

Also when you do get ti to start check that the VR and stator are putting out a good charge. Should be around 14.2 DC volts at the batt.

Are saying that if the circut breaker from the VR is triped that bike won't have power even if I've charged the battery or that it won't have power because it's not charging the battery. Sorry just trying to make sure I understand it correctly, because I did charge the battery and still no power at all.

Can someone tell me where the circut breaker is located and what it looks like so i have an idea of what I'm looking for. I read in another post that is mounted on the side of the battery box. I can see some wires from the battery going to a small silver metal looking cube mounted on the side of the battery box, but don't see a button on it. Does that sound like the right thing or is it something different. Like I said it acts like it doesn't have a battery in it at all, but the battery is fully charged now.

The breakers (silver metal rectangular box with two wires) are auto resettable on my 07 Bulldog so there is nothing to press to reset. Once they cool down from an excessive overload the will automatically reset themselves.

The VR breaker is in-line to the battery + to charge it and has no effect on wether the bike has initial power or not...unless it's OPEN and won't allow the battery to charge. The breakers can be tested for +12V on both terminal sides when checked using a GROUND reference.

The NO power problem is more likely an intermittent wire connection. Those Wire+ installs can sometimes be a mess if it's thrown together. OR it could be a Wire+ POWER MODULE having a problem.

Measure the battery voltage! 12volts minumum (using the Wire+). Hitting the starter and "LOOSING EVERYTHING" could indicate a poor condition battery and/or a loose/dirty terminal connection. You should see about 14volts DC at the battery when the bike is running at over 2000RPM's. Put a fan on the engine if you run for awhile to cool it.

I think the compression releases are only activated when the START button is pressed (Wire+ controlled). Feel the CR top stems for plunger movement when starting to confirm their operation.

The speedo should have a needle swing reset when the power is turned ON. There are three wires that run the speedo, GND-12V-SIGNAL and any one could cause the problem.

Regarding that Lithium-ion battery...honestly I don't understand how they can be PROPERLY CHARGED in a standard Bigdog S&S AGM battery charging system. The AGM charging system could potentially damage that Li-ion battery and create a fire hazard.

Well it was a dead battery, but the real problem was that my volt meter was bad, because everytime i tested it I was getting close to 13v, bad as it got more out of wack it eventually was reading the battery as having over 20v. At first I thought this thing is going to blow up on me. Finally I decided to buy me a new auto range volt meter and sure ebought the battery only had about 7v in it. Since it was a lithium battery it has a protection module on it so it wouldn't even take a charge becuase it was so over disharged. I going to run down to my mechanic and he is going to check the charging sytem to make everythinh is ok there. Thanks for the help fellows

I have a "Greenlee" AC/DC tester. Before I use it I alwys test in in a circuit that I know is live. If ya got the cabbage "Fluke " seem to be the best. Glad ya found it.
