No power

Ok this is what happen, last Sunday I was coming home with my bike and while I was cruising, the bike died on me no power, nothing like somebody remove the battery from the Wolf. The negative pole bolt was very loose and at the first I thought that was the problem but after charging the battery all night long still nothing, no power at all, no lights no ECU lights nothing. I did a little bit of research but beside one thread of a member that had the same problem (but he never said what was the fix) that I can't find it anymore I didn't see anything else that could help me. So here I am asking for help, any suggestion would be strongly appreciated. I'm not a good of a mechanic at all but I'd like to see if we can figure out the problem before I'll take the bike to a shop.

Is there voltage across the battery terminals with the charger disconnected? 12.8v minimum.

Is there a fuse or resettable breaker.

Disconnect the battery + terminal and let sit for five minutes and reconnect it.

I checked all the fuses I could find and everything look fine, I'll try to disconnect the battery.

Disconnect the negative post first then the positive.

What is the voltage across the battery?

If you have the service manual look at the wiring diagram and start looking at wires coming off the battery.

12.8V I do have the service manual, you are right I should start from there, I didn't have much time yet.

If the bolt at the bat was loose the connections at the starter may be as well...check those... sounds like there is a break in the circuit to the ECU, so nothing else is coming up. Don't have a diagram for that model, but some out there may. Crazy as it sounds, check the horn to see if it has power...it may end around the ECU and that would tell you something.

Ok I think I got power to the horn from the negative of the horn to the positive of the battery (it shows 12.2V)

One thing I don't understand my meter is reading 12.2V but from + battery to the + of the horn from the - of the horn (the wire go to the frame so is the negative) doesn't read anything. I'm not an expert at all but am I missing anything here?

To check for power you should put the neg side of your meter on the negative side of the battery or on a good ground and leave it there. Then you use the positive side of your meter probe (moving it aound) to check for voltage.

I would assume that if your measuring from the neg side of horn (ground) to pos side of battery essentially all your doing is reading the battery voltage.

Yes I agree but I read 12.2V when I am measuring from positive side of the horn to the positive side of the battery when I move the probe to the negative side of the horn keeping the probe on the positive side of the battery it doesn't read anything. When I put the probe in the negative side of the battery I don't read anything at the horn at ether positive or negative end.

The horn button grounds the neg side and the horn makes a weak not manly at all horn noise....Actually does the horn work?

What about your ignition switch is there any power to it. Wiggle the key see if it does anything. Is there a circuit breaker on this Bike, little black box close to the Battery. If there is try to reset it. Take your Battery in and get it tested, check the power to the run button. Check the ground and power cables on the battery (both ends battery end and at the Starter and Chassis or wherever it lead to)

I did some trouble shouting and still nothing, all the fuses are good and get power to it in and out, Wolf doesn't have any circuit breaker. I got 2 good batteries I switch them and nothing. I have power going to the EHC for sure but got not power going to the ignition switch we by pass it and the starter crank. Could just be the EHC totally fry I got not LED lights at the EHC at all :bang:

Just shut off.I do have power going to the ech, but when I turn the ignition key on the lights in the speedometer and turn signal lights flicker and then nothing. Headed back to Phoenix today I'll try some troubleshooting and make some calls.

Good luck, the shop manual shows how to check some troubleshooting for electrical problem for the EHC, that would be my next step I'll try this afternoon after that if I can't find anything I'll take it to the shop. I'll keep posted jsmuth let me know what's going on.
