hey talk been years but i’m back. bike is an 04 Mastiff 107 that has the wire plus mod. took the bike out of storage yesterday started up rode around the block then cleaned it up tried to start it and nothing. no click no nothing. red thunderbolt light lites when hit the run button but when i hit start nothing happens. i’ve gone thru everything and can’t get the green wire that triggers the solinoide to get 12v. I don’t think 04’s have starter relays, do they? i don’t believe there are any fuses except the auto reset one. i’m stumped! does the wireplus have a starter relays? i ran a jumper from the battery to the solenoid and it turns right over. all the accessories work, lights turn signals horn. might be start button? i’ve also read countless threads to see if u can find the issue but like i said im stumped at this point. any advice wld be great

The wire plus systems where notorious for the green wire loosing power which at that point they are primarily junk...the only fix is to do away with the wire plus as there is no fix for it...now with that said if you have a slam button on your starter you can crank it that way as I runned my bike off the slam button for 9 years....only fix now is for a new backbone harness with a axel ehc or a rip ehc kit...I would go with the axel ehc unit that wildsteedworx sells...basically 1000.00 for the backbone harness and the axel ehc without the cost of labor

If that’s truly the only thing wrong, you could hot wire a 12V line through a momentary switch as a temporary work around

It's been done before. The compression releases won't pick up. Need a strong battery. If you hook them up also it won't start until you leave off the button.

interesting me and my buddy were talking about if adding a switched 12v to the solenoid wld work.

when u say wont start till u leave off the button, can u clarify that?

That is only if you wire both the green wire to the starter and the wire that picks up the compression releases. The bike can't start with the compression releases picked up. If you only hook up the green wire to the starter then that doesn't apply.

Normally when the start button is pressed the compression releases are picked up for just one second then they shut off. This helps the starter to get the motor spinning. I hope that explains it better.

yes I understand the compression release process. currently the green only hooks up to the starter/solenoid.

Just for fun, put it in 2nd and rock it back an forth. Back to neutral and see if it starts. Or the jackshaft bolt may have come loose or tore the locktab off?
