Went for a ride today, started fine, rode fine, stopped to get a coke, came out, wouldn't start. Spins over just fine but to spark to plugs. Got bike home, removed coil and checked wires to coil at rear and no current. Any idears?????

Lots of ideas but they all require more information than you've given! :D

Would I be correct in assuming you mean no voltage (as opposed to current = amps)?

If so where were you measuring (from where to where) specifically? (You had the bike ON with the RUN button pressed right?)

Any lights on the EHC or ignition module?

Key was on, no voltage to any wire at rear of coil. Center wire is suppose to have voltage when key is on. Two lights lit on EHC when key on, green and amber, amber top, green bottom.

When you press RUN the EHC should send 12v to the coil. If the EHC isn't sending the signal, it doesn't leave a whole lot of other things to troubleshoot. Either it's a bad RUN button/control board, or EHC. If you are supposed to get power to the coil at KEY ON then that just leaves the EHC. Off the top of my head I'm not sure which is correct.

Now this is what friends do! My friend, Q, pulled his EHC off his bike and said try this. It started right up. So now I guess it's my turn to change to the new system. BDM has the new (plug in system) and said it was the easiest way to go but now I have a 30 day wait on the part as they are backed up and only make one a day.

I wish I had more money.
You may want to call gateway to see if they have any. What year is your bike? I'll ring them.

Also try Freedom Cycle in DE. I think she had one when I spoke with her last month. Ask for Kathy tell her Moe sent you.
